SJP: Michelle Obama Was "Perfection" in Inaugural Gown

Style icon Sarah Jessica Parker tells Usmagazine.com she loved the one-shouldered full-length white Jason Wu gown Michelle Obama wore to the 10 balls Tuesday evening.

"She's perfection," Parker tells Us. "I am a great admirer of her support of American designers. I think she will be great for the business of American fashion and fashion designers.

"But she will do extraordinary work for Americans in general," Parker goes on. "They are exceptional people and just happen to both be beautiful. What a wonderful combination."
Us consulted other designers for their take on the First Lady's fashion choice:

"Michelle looked incredibly chic. The gown made her look gorgeous. The dress was very Hollywood. You could see Cameron Diaz or Kate Winslet in that gown. It was very Jackie O. It took her to a new level. She is a fashion icon." -Stylist Philip Bloch-

"Michelle's dress was an unexpected modern change for her, which appropriately mirrors the message which won Barrack this presidency!" -Stylist Marni Senofonte ( Mary J. Blige , Cassie, Diddy) -

"I think she looked radiant! The color choice was perfect and not too aggressive. The silhouette of the dress was very complimenting and effortless. Overall, she was glowing and looked very confident and comfortable." -Stylist Mariel Haenn ( Rihanna )-

"Loved that she wore Jason Wu! I think there is something wonderful about the fact that she chose to showcase under-the-radar talent. Love that she wore white - so classic, timeless, elegant. MUCH better than a bright red or royal blue. Love that she showed off her fantastic arms. Just worried that the VERY full skirt will make it hard for her to dance at ALL 10 balls!" -What Not to Wear's Stacy London-

" Michelle Obama 's gown was fairytale and dreamlike. It was a lovely nod to the history and traditions of former first ladies but given a more modern spin. What I loved is the accuracy of her choice of designers and catapulting a lesser known designer into an overnight star." -Stylist Robert Verdi ( Eva Longoria Parker)-

" Michelle Obama looked absolutely amazing in Jason Wu. She has already proven herself over the past months at striking the perfect mix of fashion and appropriateness; this gown took it to another level.

"I am so glad to see Mrs. Obama supporting young American designers; this will be a big boost to the U.S. fashion industry, as the eyes of the world will be focused on her choices.

"I have met Jason Wu on several occasions, and he is an incredibly sophisticated and talented young designer. I am so happy to see his work featured on such an esteemed level." -Stylist Lee Harris-

"The one-shouldered dress was a confident and bold choice for the First Lady. The cream dress was a mix of old Hollywood glamour with a youthful
ease that people of all ages could connect to. Choosing a young fresh designer signifies the change they want to bring to this country. It was perfectly elegant."-Stylist Tom Soluri ( Leighton Meester )-

"Wearing white chiffon was a daring choice, but Michelle Obama pulled it off! When she was dancing with the president, they looked like a dream -- and then you remembered it was really a dream come true!"-Stylist Vincent Boucher ( Blake Lively )-

"I LOVE that she's instantly made sweet and talented designer Jason Wu a
household name."-Stylist George Kostiopoulis ( Freida Pinto )-
